Steadyfy is a place people bring hard things to. That only works if everyone here is safe. These terms are the agreement between you and the Steadyfy team, and they explain what we expect of you and what you can expect of us.
By creating an account or posting anything, you agree to them.
This agreement
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”, and the end user licence agreement or “EULA” for the Steadyfy app) form a binding agreement between you and Steadyfy. They cover the Steadyfy mobile app and website.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Steadyfy for your own, non-commercial use. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer, or build a competing service from it.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Steadyfy.
Who can use Steadyfy
Steadyfy is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it. We ask your age when you join. If you tell us you’re under 18, we show you helplines for young people instead, and we erase the account that was just created straight away.
You are responsible for what happens on your account. Do not share it, and do not create a new account to get around a suspension.
Your content
What you write stays yours. You keep ownership of your posts, updates, check-ins and voice recordings.
You give us the limited permission we need to run the service: to store your content, show it to the people your settings allow, check it for harmful content, and process it (for example, changing a voice recording into a different voice). We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to advertise to you.
You are responsible for what you post. Only post things you have the right to share, and do not share other people’s private information.
Zero tolerance for objectionable content
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on Steadyfy.
Posting any of the following will result in the content being removed and your account being suspended, without warning:
- Harassment, bullying, hate speech, or abuse directed at any person or group.
- Sexual content involving minors, and any sexual content posted without consent.
- Threats of violence, or content that incites or glorifies violence.
- Content that encourages or instructs on self-harm or suicide.
- Sharing another person’s private or identifying information.
- Spam, scams, impersonation, or commercial promotion.
- Anything unlawful.
We do not require a pattern of behaviour before acting. A single serious violation is enough.
Reporting, moderation and removal
Posts and check-ins are checked automatically when they are sent, and content that clearly breaks these Terms is stopped before anyone sees it. Our Privacy Policy explains how this works.
You can report a post, a check-in or a person, and you can block any user at any time. Blocking is immediate and hides that person’s content from you.
We review reports and act on objectionable content within 24 hours. Reported content may be hidden automatically before a person on our team has looked at it. We would rather briefly hide something that turns out to be fine than leave abuse up.
Where content is found to violate these Terms, we remove it and suspend the account that posted it. Suspended accounts cannot post again.
You can also delete your own posts at any time, and they are removed from the feed immediately.
To report something urgently, email [email protected].
Steadyfy is not medical care
Steadyfy is peer support. It is not therapy, counselling, or medical treatment, and the people replying to you are not clinicians. Nothing here is medical advice.
If you are in crisis or at risk of harming yourself, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis line. You can find some on our crisis help page.
Circles and SOS contacts
In a circle, the other members see your username, your circle check-ins and the messages you send there. If you miss a check-in, your streak pauses. Nobody is removed from a circle for missing check-ins.
SOS contacts are people you choose to text when things get hard. When you press SOS, the app opens your phone’s own Messages app with your message filled in, and you send it yourself from your own number. Steadyfy does not send texts to your contacts. Only add people who have agreed to be contacted this way. SOS is not an emergency service. If you are in danger, call your local emergency number.
Your data and ending your account
In Settings you can download a copy of your data, delete all your posts, or delete your account.
When you delete your account, your content goes dark for everyone else straight away. If you sign back in within 30 days, it all comes back. After 30 days, your account and your content are erased. Our Privacy Policy has the details.
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these Terms, and we may do so immediately where the content is seriously harmful.
Disclaimers and liability
Steadyfy is provided “as is”. We do our best to keep it running and safe, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.
Content on Steadyfy is written by other users. We do not endorse it and are not responsible for it. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Steadyfy is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. If we make a material change, we will ask you to agree to the updated version in the app before you continue. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
